The case involves a huge offshore wind and fish farm development. The pressure and the project just don’t make sense together. A character assassination, arson, ship scuttling, murders and threatened prosecution for murder are just some of the tactics used to pressure Jack. With his passport confiscated by the FBI, Jack must rely on his wife and three children to travel to Canada to uncover the evidence revealing the petrifying truth behind the development and bring down a corrupt government.

He’s not sure if he can trust her but he is hell-bent on saving her.

When his wife and the mother of his children goes missing, Jack Gamble doesn’t know what to think. Could Maddy really have fallen for one of her students and run off? That’s what the police think.

Is she in trouble? Injured somewhere? Being held against her will? At first, there are no clues, she has simply vanished.

Then the police and other agents of the New Zealand government begin to pull back the veil on the hidden evidence and Jack begins to unravel the mystery.

He and a few others embark on a harrowing journey to rescue Maddy from the grips of the Chinese government before they get her back to China.

The journey takes him across New Zealand and then to Vanuatu. They’re on a poor Pacific island, a showdown occurs between China, a rising menacing power, and two very determined women. The outcome is hard to foresee among the many twists and turns.

This is a powerful and moving novel about private citizens challenging an overreaching totalitarian government with limitless resources and connections.

A worldwide Ebola crisis and over-reactive world governments have put greedy class action lawyer Jack Gamble on the verge of a big payday when the judge allows the class claim to go forward and orders the United States and its CDC to provide discovery. George Parker, head of security at the CDC, needs to keep things hidden. By trickery, Jack is found by a court to have Ebola and summarily shipped out and dropped amongst the class he represents in the middle of Ebola Island, formerly known as Madagascar.

Ebola Island is out of control. Food, medicine, supplies and money have been systematically siphoned off leaving the residents of the island sick and starving. Many have turned to cannibalism to survive. All vestiges of order or control have been overrun by the time Jack is dropped at an airstrip on the island. To survive Jack must cross the island on foot with no food or water except what can be scavenged and he must avoid the roving bands of cannibals. To make matters more difficult Parker has sent trained armed men to track and kill Jack and has put a huge reward out to area bounty hunters if they can find and kill Jack. Against these obstacles, Jack has the help of two unarmed locals and support back in Cincinnati from his lawyer and his girlfriend.

During his journey, Jack finds compassion even for the cannibals who would like to capture and cook him. Jack rediscovers his capacity to love and is driven to get back to his girlfriend Maddy. Can Jack overcome these obstacles and get back to the woman he loves?
